Láska Kristova

Je úchvatný plamen

do modra zbarvený

A celý svět i nebe i vesmír

V něm hoří – hoří – hoří

The Glass Mountain

Skleněná hora

Příběh, který se stal. Více zde

I

A man became a widower when he was young

And a little girl became an orphan

when she was still lying in the cradle

Her father decided to marry again

because he didn´t  want to live without a wife

and also he thought

that the little girl needed a mother

This happened in our galaxy

This happened in our Milky Way

A man brought a new mother to a poor girl

But it wasn´t necessary,

it wasn´t necessary

Because every day

a blue bird flew down to her,

flew down to her

Who can the Blue Bird be?

Maybe he is a messanger from her mother

Maybe he comes from Paradise

My Blue Bird,

as blue as the sky above a  happy heart,

be always with me

The woman  didn´t like her step-daughter

From the first moment she had seen her

there was something in her heart

which made her treat the poor girl cruelly

The man loved his second wife

and didn ´t want to believe

that the woman whom he adored

was capable of cruelty towards anybody,

not even to his only child

II

The older the girl,

the bigger the hatred of her step mother

Though the girl experienced only anger and malice

from the strange woman,

she was tender, sweet and kind

When she was a maiden,

then one day

the  Blue Bird few down to her

with a yellow pear

This happened in our galaxy

This happened in our Milky Way

The Blue Bird gave a yellow pear to a poor girl

and when she had eaten it,

her dress became like that of a queen

The following day

the  Blue Bird flew to the girl

with a red apple

Who can the Blue Bird be?

Maybe he is a messanger from her mother

Maybe he comes from Paradise

This happened in our galaxy

This happened in our Milky Way

The Blue Bird gave a read apple to a poor girl

and when she had eaten it

her beauty was brilliant

The following day

the Blue Bird  flew down with a hazelnut

But the girl was imprisoned

in a bush of thorns, pins and needles

into which her stepmother  had closed her

after having found out

who made those wonders possible

The Blue Bird got through the pins, needles, and thorns

losing all his feathers

When he reached the girl,

his body was one terrible wound

and he was close to death

This happened in our galaxy

This happened in our Milky Way

The Blue Bird gave a hazelnut  to a poor girl

and when she had eaten it,

she felt great power and energy

Who can the Blue Bird be?

Maybe he is a messanger from her mother

Maybe he comes from Paradise

My Blue Bird,

as blue as the sky above a  happy heart

be always with me

She broke through the prison

This happened in our galaxy

This happened in our Milky Way

A beautiful, sweet girl

offered her hand to a dying bird

and when she had uttered the words of love

he became a man

he became a man

III

They lived in a small cottage

and didn´t think that they were poor

And everyday  she remembered

what he had said to her:

Take the feathers and make a belt of them

I cannot return there from where I am

not a bird, not a man

but a foreigner here though so happy

Take the feathers and make a belt of them

If you do not guard it well,

I will have to go away

and never return

And as the evil ruled this world,

the envious stepmother came to their cottage

and destroyed the belt

His beloved wife heard only his sigh

and his last words:

Forever I must go

farewell my love

Though we are of one blood

I must go and say goodbye to you

Farewell

IV

She believed that there must be some place

where she  would meet him

and decided to find that place

You are strong when your hope is Light

when you know that every night has its end

every day has its start

Life has no sense without love

Sometimes it is easy to die

She came to Mercury

and he gave her a pair of iron shoes

„Each step a pain – each step a light day

They will take you to Saturn“

and he placed something in her hand

It was a yellow pear

You are strong when your hope is Light

when you know that every night has its end

every day has its start

Life has no sense without love

Sometimes it is easy to die

She came to Saturn

and he gave her another pair of iron shoes

“Each step a pain – each step a light day

They will take you to Mars“

and he placed something in her hand

It was a red apple

You are strong when your hope is Light

when you know that every night has its end

every day has its start

Life has no sense without love

Sometimes it is easy to die

When she came to Mars,

he gave her the last pair of iron shoes

“Each step a pain – each step a light day

They will take you to the Glass Mountain

There you will find your fate

You still have time to go back

And because she wanted to go on,

he gave her a hazelnut

V

Then one day she saw the Glass Mountain

So the Glass Mountain is what I was born for

I was born for the Glass Mountain

And when she had climbed it up to the top,

she saw a wedding procession

and her husband by the side of the Glass Mountain Queen

They were man and wife

So the Glass Mountain is what I was born for

I was born for the Glass Mountain

Her dress was torn on her journey of misery

but she had the yellow pear

She offered the pear to the Queen

in exchange for one night with her husband

The Queen knew the value of the pear

and willingly made the exchange

But first, she dropped a sleeping pill

into her husband´s glass of wine

and when his first wife entered his chamber,

he was sleeping soundly

She got on her knees and begged:

Wake up, don´t you know

three pairs of iron shoes I have worn

my dress is torn

and the yellow pear – I  gave to your queen

to see you my dear

But he was sleeping on his bed

the Man who as the Blue Bird

gave all his feathers out of love to her

Wake up, don´t you know

three pairs of iron shoes I have worn

My dress is torn

and the yellow pear I  gave to your queen

to see you my dear

But he was sleeping on his bed

the Man who as the Blue Bird

had lost  all his feathers out of love to her

So the Glass Mountain is what I was born for

I was born for the Glass Mountain

She lost all her beauty  on the journey of misery

but she had the red apple

She offered the apple to the Queen

in exchange for another night with her husband

And the Queen,

knowing the value of the apple,

agreed

but before she let her first husband´s wife go in,

she had dropped a sleeping pill into his glass of wine

So when his first wife entred his chamber,

he was sleeping in a deep sleep

She knelt beside him and begged:

Wake up, don´t you know

three pairs of iron shoes I have worn

My dress is torn

My beauty is lost

and my red apple I gave to your Queen

to see you my dear

But he was sleeping on his bed

the Man who as the Blue Bird

had lost  all his feathers out of love to her

So the Glass Mountain is what I was born for

I was born for the Glass Mountain

She had one day of life left,

so weak she was

but she had the hazelnut

She offered the hazelnut

in exchange for the night with her husband

The Queen wanted the hazel nut

and sold her wedding night again willingly

But  she didn´t forget

to drop the sleeping pill

into her husband´s glass of wine

He was sleeping soundly

when his first wife entered the room

And didn´t hear her cry

and didn´t see her tears

Wake up, don´t you know -

three pairs of iron shoes I have worn

My dress is torn

My beauty is lost

I am close to death

and my hazelnut I have given to your Queen

to see you my dear

VI

As the morning was coming,

life was slowly leaving her veins

She stopped begging him

and began to sing:

There was a little girl,

whom a blue bird loved,

a bird so blue, so blue

And though she was an orphan

and had a cruel stepmother,

her life was beautiful

The bird made her gentle, lovely and strong

and to save her he offered more

than she could understand

She always thought

that it was him

for whom she had been born

Now she knows

that she was born

for the Glass Mountain

The  Glass Mountain , the Glass Mountain is

what I was born for

One day I had to come to the Glass Mountain

It was morning

He woke up and heard only her last words:

Forever I must go

Farewell my love

Though we are of one blood

I must go and say goodbye to you

Farewell

Forever I must go

Farewell my love

Though we are of one blood,

I must go and say goodbye to you,

Farewell

Then the door opened

and the Queen of the Glass Mountain,

all in beauty and power,

entered the room

and stepped on the heart of her dead rival

When she had done that,

the body became a star

and the man recognized his first and true wife

and refused the Queen

Around the man´s waist

there was a golden belt

He was wearing three pairs of shoes,

but soft and steady,

Each step a new light day

and before him

The Silver Way appeared
